Natalie Lawson - Who is this amazingly talented photographer?

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of working with Natalie Lawson, a photographer based out of Tallahassee, Florida.  Natalie needed artwork for her website, Natalie Lawson Photography, and had been searching for months for just the perfect look that really captured the essence of her personality and her work. When I saw this photo of her on her blog, I knew that she was someone I would love to work with. Fun and vibrant!

Inspired by the banner on my own blog, she asked me to create custom art for her site. I was tickled at the idea, not just for the chance to do something a little different, but because Natalie's charm, her enthusiasm and gorgeous photos really pulled at my heart. Seriously, once you see her photos, you think, oh my gosh, WOW!  Amazing, let me keep looking at these incredible shots! I want to see more!

Natalie's use of light and her ability to capture the soul of a person shows through on all of her photos. Honestly, I think that this job is right up there with my all-time top favorite jobs. Why? Because, not only can Natalie pull the best out of someone in her photographs, she pulled out the best in ME! Her sweet personality, her real-ness and her drive for greatness made me smile every time I sat down with my sketchbook and computer. Seriously, I'm not kidding. I can only imagine what it's like for Natalie's clients - the beautiful babies and children, the mothers, the families. How good they must feel when they work with her!

Thank you, Natalie, for bringing the light of your personality into my life! You truly are an amazing woman and I know, just know, that you will achieve great success!

My newest CHA collections...Safari Girl & Safari Boy

Here's some fun new baby collections I designed for Best Creation that were just released at CHA titled, "Safari Girl" and "Safari Boy". Soft colors of lavender, yellow and green highlight the Safari Girl line. Safari Boy is accented with colors of orange, brown and blue. Sweet baby jungle animals like lions, monkeys, giraffes and alligators frolic together alongside jungle palms.  These were really fun collections for me to illustrate and design since the little animals brought a smile to my face, each and every time I worked on the collection.  Hope you enjoy them!

I'm back....designing cool new products- a preview!

I'm back! Designing again, and things have taken on a whole new twist... I'm creating digital papers, art journaling products, clip art, embroidery patterns and more. Plus - there's even more good news!  I'm also creating some fun new scrapbooking collections for a great company that will be released at CHA in January. Things are still in the works there, so when I can, I will share!

Here's a little page I put together with one of my new kits using my sweet daughter's photo. Hard to believe she is 18 now and in college studying graphic design at the U of M!

Please be patient, as I am creating daily and also updating daily. Adding things to Etsy is pretty time consuming, but I am committed to getting new products up as quickly as possible.

Designing my way... enjoying my home office in a blizzard

We are in a full blown blizzard today. Drifts up to our doorsteps in the backyard. It's the kind of day that makes me appreciate working from home. I moved out to the country, near the river, in May and let me tell you, it's a bit different than the burbs. I spent three hours shoveling our driveway yesterday, which is very steep. Only to learn how to use our massive snowblower when my hubby got home.  Fun! The dogs have a little path cleared for them. They are curled up on my bed, under the covers. Ahhh, a dogs life! I am enjoying working at my desk in the loft with it's amazing 24" IMac. Love this thing. Simple pleasures.

In case you all are wondering why I haven't been around...I've been busy creating, getting ready to launch some of my designs in some formats that are new to me, but very exciting.  I've learned so much about myself...That if you just keep trying and trying, something eventually sticks, clicks and magic happens. I really am so excited about my future, more than I have been in a long time. I really believe things happen for a reason and I am so thankful for my creative gifts that God has bestowed on me.  Please stick with me as I continue to create and design - it'll be a fun, wild ride!
